Carlsberg launches new high-tech ZerO2 cap for fresher beer in Vietnam
In Vietnam, Carlsberg has recently launched ZerO2 cap – a new technology which reduces oxygen in the bottle and can offer consumers even fresher beer. ‘Fresh’ is one of the factors defining better beer. Carlsberg always aspires to find ways of keeping their bottled beer fresher for as long as possible. To secure better beer quality, it is important to control the amount of oxygen in the bottle. When beer is exposed to oxygen, it begins to oxidise, resulting in undesirable flavours. To counter this, Carlsberg came up with the ZerO2 cap. The ZerO2 cap works through its use of an oxygen scavenger liner of the cap. The compound actively absorbs oxygen and removes it from the head space in the bottle. This reduces flavour oxidation, allowing this cap to perform up to 15?tter than standard bottle lids over the full shelf life of a product. This allows the beer to stay fresher for a longer period of time.
In Vietnam, the cap has been introduced on Carlsberg Premium Smooth Draught, one of Carlsberg’s iconic products. This beer product delivers the same silky smoothness of freshly-tapped beer. With ZerO2 cap added to Carlsberg Premium Smooth Draught, Carlsberg once again achieves another milestone on the journey to pursue betterments – which is living proof of the fundamentals of the brand's DNA.
Stefano Clini, Managing Director of Carlsberg Vietnam said, “At Carlsberg….., we also believe that attention to small details can have a major impact on what we deliver to society. Our new ZerO2 bottle cap is in many ways a culmination of this belief. We discovered that by rethinking how we design the lids of our bottles, we could deliver an even better product to consumers – which just goes to show that no detail can be overlooked on the path to progress.”
Carlsberg Group entered Vietnam in 1993 and since then, it has expanded with offices and breweries in north and central Vietnam. Its brands include Carlsberg, Tuborg, Huda, Huda Ice Blast, Huda Gold, and Halida.
