Dadu’s eyes international expansion by mid-2020
Dadu’s, a pioneer in hand-crafted traditional Indian sweets and snacks, is investing Rs 30 crore (US$4.2 million) in setting up a centralised kitchen as part of its plans to foray into the RTE segment by August 2020, while also looking at making its international debut with an eye on markets like Singapore, Thailand, Dubai and eventually UK and US.
Dadu’s Managing Director Rajesh Dadu said the company is close to clinching a deal to acquire 2.5 acres of land on Hyderabad’s outskirts for its proposed centralised kitchen that will not only make RTE items like frozen kulchas, parathas, samosas, packaged chole, rajma chawal but also long-shelf life products like pickles, relishes, snacks and sweets.
Once the centralised kitchen starts operating, Dadu’s plans to set up outlets in Dubai, London, US, Singapore and Bangkok through the franchisee route.
