Kawan Food to postpone launch of Fresh Frozen Bread to end-2019
Analysts have expected Kawan Food to report 30% growth in sales revenue in 2019 with the launch of its frozen ethnic bread products (like paratha, chappati) in the 1st half of 2019, however this plan was postponed to end-2019.
The launch of the new products, such as fresh frozen bread chilled at 10° celsius, is likely delayed until end-2019 due to technical and operational issues. Analysts are now projecting a lower 12% to 13% revenue growth for 2019, mainly driven by growth in its export markets.
Kawan Food sees huge opportunity in this fresh frozen bread business as consumers see cost-savings from consuming bread at home rather than dining out.
With the expected launch of fresh frozen bread (and hopefully other new bread products) by end-2019 and an organic export sales growth, analysts forecast a 28% revenue growth for the group for 2020.
